Nature Index
Government of Norway developed the Nature Index (NI) to provide an overview of the state and development of biodiversity in the major ecosystems and thereby help measure progress towards the goal of halting the loss of biodiversity. Through CEBPOL, the NI developed in Norway will be used and tested to deal wiyh site-based biodiversity management issues, including designation of Biodiversity Heritage Sites (BHSs) in India.
Work Plan for 2015
Through CEBPOL, two pilot sites will be identified for testing the methodology of the Nature Index in India in, eg in coastal / wetland and arid / semi-arid ecosystems
