SEVENTY FIRST INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS


The National Biodiversity Authority (NBA) celebrated the Seventy-First Indian Independence Day at its headquarters in Chennai on the 15th day of August, 2017 maintaining high spirits with which the whole country celebrated the day.The Event was attended by the staff of NBA and also the staff from other offices of TICEL Biopark.

The Guard of Honour from a contingent of security personnel of TICEL Biopark was received by Dr.B.Meenakumari, the Chairperson, NBA before she hoisted the majestic tri-color in the lawns of the TICEL Biopark building.The flag-hoisting was followed by the play of heart-stirring National Anthem with an apt attention and salute of the participants.

The Chairperson, NBA while offering hearty greetings on 71st anniversary of Independence, requested the audience to think over whether what has already been achieved is in the right direction and to the fullest satisfaction considering the long period of 70 years of independence. Remembering the last year’s message to save biodiversity, the Chairperson stressed once again the need to protect to the biodiversity.  She emphasized this, considering the plight of the socially vulnerable people like tribals, who are entirely depending on biodiversity for their livelihood. She urged the audience to remember the sacrifices made by the military personnel protecting the borders of the country, for making our lives peaceful.  Concluding the speech, she requested the staff to be committed to the organization to which they work for, keeping away selfish motives.

Shri Jayakantan, Executive in NBA rendered the famous Vande Mataram song first in Tamil and then in the original Sanskrit version followed by English.
